Lead Generation – Part #3

Following up with your prospects is very important. If you’re not doing it, you’re wasting your time.

So here’s the BIG question, “How do you effectively follow up with a prospect.”

First, and foremost, be consistent!!!

For example, I’m consistent on posting updates once a week on my blog. This is a must. If you’re not consistent then your prospects won’t keep coming back to visit your site.

One more thing about being consistent. It takes on average 5 times to contact a prospect before they will buy from you. They need to trust you first.

What else can I do to?

When you’re following up by email, you want to include the prospects name in the subject. You could start with their name, or include it in the middle or end of the subject like this…

Let’s move on. To make the email personal, address the email to the prospect like, “Hi [firstname].”

In the body of the email, make your paragraphs uneven. What do I mean by that?

Break them up.

For example, the first paragraph may be 3 lines, then 3 lines, then 1 line. If your paragraphs are the same size like 3 lines, 3 lines, 3 lines, it makes it hard to read.

Now the width.

Don’t make your lines too long. You don’t want them turning their head to read. Think of a newspaper. Why do they have small columns? Because its easier to read.

Two more things. One thing is the signature. Include your name. Your full name or first name only is fine.

The last item is the P.S. at the bottom.

Allot of prospect are going to skim the email if they even open it. Once they reach the bottom, they will read your P.S first. Then they will scroll up and read the whole thing if the P.S. is good.

That’s all for now, :)
